It’s finally here … a delectable cupcake to-go box of reviews! For those cupcake eaters that are busy, busy, busy (but in the best way of course).
Rating System:
After much consideration, we have decided that a scale of sprinkles would be the most appropriate form for rating cupcake eateries.
5 sprinkles = The Cupcake Gang’s highest and most coveted honor
4 sprinkles = Delectable, but not quite up to perfection
3 sprinkles = Fine — we may eat it again, but not if we’re in the mood for greatness
2 sprinkles = Does not appreciate the art that is cupcake eating
1 sprinkle = A shame to cupcake eating society
Each cupcake eatery will be rated largely based on two categories: the cupcake itself and the atmosphere of the cupcake eatery.
Within the “cupcake” section the categories are: cake, frosting and presentation, along with an overall comment on the cupcake.
Within the “atmosphere” section the categories are: service (which includes wait-time and friendliness of staff) and seating (which will not be rated, but will indicate availability), along with an overall comment on the atmosphere.

Overall: Worth it? Eh (meaning: non-enthusiastic).
Atmosphere
Service: 3 sprinkles
Seating: Limited (very limited)
Overall: Get it to-go (if you even have time to wait in line!).

Frosting: 4.5 sprinkles
Presentation: 4 sprinkles
Overall: These cupcakes were hearty and fun. Much appreciated.

Overall: Stay in and eat the cupcake with your fellow cupcake eating buddies. There’s even a children’s bookstore attached!

Overall: Crumbs is the best for its specialty cupcakes — so get those.

Overall: A nice arena for sitting down and savoring the cupcake.

Overall: Get it for a large party where there are other desserts present.

Overall: Get it to stay or go — that is the beauty of Whole Foods.

Overall: A fun place to be, but horrendous for seating when busy (which is most of the time) — so take it to-go.

Overall: Interesting mix-and-match choices, but a little expensive for the size. But it’s organic!

Overall: Nice digs, but not for family-style table eatin’!

Overall: Busy + Crowd = No time to muse over the fine task of choosing one’s cupcakes.
